E.B. White's beloved children's classic Charlotte's Web is the tale of ten-year-old Fern who saves the life of a newborn piglet runt, adopting him as her own, naming him Wilbur, and giving him a cozy home in her family barn. In the barn with the other animals, Wilbur learns of his inevitable fate. Terrified by the thought of becoming someone's breakfast, Wilbur turns to his closest friend in the barn, a spider named Charlotte. Charlotte plans to rescue Wilbur from the farmer's springtime axe by spinning messages in her web. Her first message 'Some Pig' appears like a miracle, grabbing everyone's attention and making the people believe that perhaps Wilbur is worth saving after all.
Charlotte's Web is a story of love, friendship, and faith. Today, the technology exists to animate Charlotte's Web as E.B. White prefigured in 1952, and Walden Media (Holes, Because of Winn-Dixie, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe) along with Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon Movies and Kerner Entertainment offer both the animation and unmistakable voices White saw as befitting - and true.
